CSA FAQ

What is a CSA?

CSA consists of a community of individuals who pledge support to a farming operation where the growers and consumers share the risks and benefits of food production. CSAs consist of a system of weekly delivery or pick-up of vegetables and fruit.

What is a share?

A share is a portion of our produce. Each week we will harvest fresh produce for your share. Each weekly harvest will depend on harvest availability. We have three share options:

Full Share

This is perfect for a family or even to split with your neighbors. You will get around 13-15 item varieties of produce to enjoy all week. This share has the largest variety and quantity of produce. Here are a few samples of share varieties per season:

  • Spring: 1 asparagus, 2 greenhouse tomatoes, 1 romaine lettuce, 1 bunch radish, 1 bunch of beets, 1 potted herb/flower, 1 swiss chard, 1 bunch kale, 1 bunch mint, 1 parsley, 1 cilantro, 1 scallion, 1 qt strawberries, 1 bok choy
  • Summer: 1 lettuce, 2 beefsteak tomatoes, 2 zucchini/squash, 1 broccoli, 1 qt string beans, 2 bell peppers, 1 eggplant, 1 bunch basil, 1 pint blueberries, 1 qt potatoes, 1 pint grape tomatoes, 2 candy onions, 1 cantaloupe or sugar baby, 6 peaches or nectarines, 6 ears of corn, 2 cucumbers

What produce will I get?

View our produce list and harvest schedule. All items with an asterisk (peaches, nectarines, apples, sugar plums, blueberries) are not grown on our farm but they are locally grown. We chose to provide these locally sourced products for our CSA to keep a variety for our customers.

How long is the season?

Our season starts in the beginning of June and can be expanded all the way through November. Our 18 week season we will give you fresh produce harvested on the day of pick up.  All members are required to take 1 week "off" for vacation or personal use, so while the season runs for an additional week, you are only paying for 17/22 weeks for the 18/23 week season respectively.

Customers will also receive a 10% discount (received upon final payment) to use during the CSA season in the farm market.

Can I choose what I get?

Each week’s share will depend on what is in season and ready for harvest. You cannot specifically choose each item in the box but you can substitute for items that do not meet your needs.  We will provide a list of what each share entails each week (i.e. 1 pint of blueberries, 3 large tomatoes, 2 heads of lettuce, etc) . You will use this list in the CSA tent and choose your items accordingly. If there is an item on the list that you prefer not to take, you may duplicate another item that you will use.
